About MODIT Nations Edu Suite
What this system is, who built it, and why it exists.
What it is
MODIT Nations Edu Suite is a school management platform. It handles the operational side of running a school: student records, class management, daily attendance, examinations and assessment, fee tracking, lesson planning, and timetable generation. Everything lives in one database, so a student's attendance record, exam results, and fee status are all connected to the same person.
The system is multi-school. Each school gets its own instance with its own students, staff, classes, and settings. Schools do not share data with each other.
Who it is for
- School administrators who need to manage enrolment, classes, streams, staff allocation, and access control.
- Teachers who mark attendance, set and mark exams, write lesson plans, and generate reports.
- Students who check their timetable, take online exams, view results, and track their learning.
- Bursars and accountants who create fee structures, send invoices, and track payments.
How it works
The system is a web application. There is nothing to install on a computer or phone. It runs in any modern browser. The school administrator creates accounts for staff, and students can either be added by staff or enrol themselves online and wait for approval.
Roles control what each person can see and do. A teacher sees their classes and students. A student sees their own records. An administrator sees everything. These permissions are enforced on the server, not just hidden in the interface.
What it does not do
It is not a learning management system in the Moodle sense. There are no discussion forums, no SCORM packages, no video hosting. It is not a communication platform replacing email or WhatsApp. It is not an accounting package that replaces your bookkeeping software. It handles the school-specific workflows that generic tools handle poorly.
Who built it
The Edu Suite is built and maintained by MODOI TIMOTHY, a software engineer. It is not a venture-funded startup and it is not built by a committee. It is one person writing code, talking to schools, and fixing the things that do not work.
That means bug reports go directly to the person who writes the code. Feature requests are evaluated by the person who would build them. There is no support ticket queue and no account manager layer between you and the product.

Technical details
The Edu Suite is a Python web application built on Flask with a PostgreSQL database. It is self-hosted on the school's own server or hosting account. MODIT Nations does not hold school data on shared infrastructure. Each school's database is separate.
The front end is server-rendered HTML with progressive enhancement. Pages load without JavaScript and add interactivity where it helps. There is no single-page application framework, no mandatory JavaScript bundle, and no tracking scripts.
Version history
The system has been in active development since 2024. It is deployed in schools and updated regularly. The version number is shown in the footer of every authenticated page.
